We’re seeking for a competent Managing Editor to manage a range of various styles of writing across several platforms and lead our Content Department. You will report to the Chief Content Officer and be in charge of our editor and writer department. A successful Managing Editor blends a writer’s inventiveness with an Operations Manager’s practical focus. You will be expected to manage a department of writers who consistently generate high-quality work in a timely manner while producing and editing content for our firm and clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES/EXPERIENCE:

  • Our team of editors, writers, and interns are trained, managed, and given feedback.
  • Determine issues, material, and subjects in collaboration with our Chief Content Officer.
  • Organize meetings.
  • Plan and approve writing and editing assignments.
  • Schedules must be controlled and deadlines must be met.
  • Ensure that proofreading protocols are followed and that copy is edited as needed.
  • Assist in the evaluation of finalized copy for policy, style, and tone compliance.
  • Using guest post software, publish content on a variety of platforms.
  • Create articles, social media content, and longform content, as well as rewrites as needed.
  • Participate in an ongoing discussion on how to improve and upgrade our systems and processes.
  • Organize regular vendor meetings.
  • Always follow SEO Design Chicago’s regulations and best practices.
  • Management of software

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to motivate and foster teamwork in a group.
  • Excellent MS Office and Google Suite skills
  • Highly motivated and goal-oriented
  • Skills in time management and organization
  • Adaptability to input
  • Working as an editor or in another similar position is a plus.
  • Copywriting and editing skills are exceptional.
  • English fluency is required.
  • Working understanding of web platforms such as WordPress as well as SEO ideas is required.
  • Capabilities in managing and planning people and operations
  • Efficacy and dependability
  • Pay close attention to the details.
  • a bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, or a similar discipline
  • Full-time, part-time, and contract positions are available.
